Water Quality Management

ASMA provides complete water quality monitoring solutions employing state-of-the-art instrumentation to continuously and manually monitor the major pollutant covering surface water, groundwater and marine water.

Wadis Water Quality Monitoring

ASMA was awarded a 20+2 years concession to design, build, operate and maintain a network of ambient water quality monitoring stations from 1995 till 2017.ASMA has installed 15 continuous river water quality monitoring (CWQM) stations and took over and refurbish over thousand river manual water quality monitoring (MWQM) stations
ASMA also provides a complete range of services in surface water quality monitoring for assessing both management and control strategies and options as well as to assess the potential impacts arising from development activities such as those required in EIA studies.
Other river water monitoring services :-.
  • River Cleaning Project.
  • River of Life.
  • Monitoring of pesticides water pollution.
  • Integrated River Basin Management.
  • Total Maximun Daily Load.
  • Water Quality Modelling-LTHIA, QUAL2K and QUAL2E.

Lake Water Quality Monitoring

Understanding how the lake functions, accessing general water quality and trends, or diagnosing lake problems are among the key objectives or purpose for monitoring.
ASMA has the capabilities to achieve those objective for our clients. Among our key projects are :-.
  • Water Quality and Biological Monitoring for Putrajaya lake & Wetland since 2003 until today.
  • Five(5) Continuous Water Quality Monitoring System for Putrajaya Lake.

Marine Water Quality Monitoring

Powered by nature, the Wave Glider is the only proven unmanned surface robot for real-time ocean data collection and communications over long durations and in varying sea states. Sitting at the surface, the Wave Glider is the essential sea floor to space link creating a network to help solve some of the world's greatest challenges.
ASMA with the collaboration of Liquid Robotic Inc (a Boeing Company) is now going for the ocean to extend their services in oceanography, surveillance and environmental monitoring providing "Data Center in the Sea".
On March 2016, ASMA has collaborated with INOS (Institut Oseanografi dan Sekitaran -University Malaysia Terengganu-UMT) in launching the wave glider in Pulau Bidong, Terengganu. Among the data collected are current, wave, CTD ,weather and many more.

Drinking Water Quality Monitoring

Maintaining the required level of water quality in the potable water distribution system requires diligent attention by water treatment plant personnel and those in charge of the distribution system and is challenging because of the complexity of the system. The changes orr degradation in water quality can be caused by a number of factors.
Therefore, an appropriate monitoring technique is indispensible for the detection of changes in water quality during distribution and at consumers tap. ASMA know how in monitoring technique contributes to the following benefits :-
  • Provides the operator a pro-active approach to deal with emerging wateer quality issues;
  • Helps the operator to take decision for cost-effective operations & maintenance activities ;
  • Meets Dringking Water Standard by Ministry of Health(MOH);.
  • Quicker response to public complaints;.
  • Increase consumer confidence (reduce percieved risk);.
  • Reduces public health risk by early detection; and
  • Develop water quality baseline data.

Groundwater Monitoring

ASMA has considerable experience and expertise in establishing and implementing groundwater monitoring programmes. Typically, ASMA offers groundwater that include.
  • Designing & monitoring well networks.
  • Well drilling & installation of peizometer and premanent well.
  • GroundWater sampling and analysis of a comprehensive range of parameters.
  • Automatic Groundwater Monitoring System.

Source Monitoring & Assessement

Monitoring the effluent quality of the waste stream is an essential activity to ensure effective environmental management for any wastewater generating industry. In addition to ensuring that the relevant regulations are adhered to, the monitoring activity allows for the assessment of the efficiency of the treatment plant.
  • Routine sampling and analysis of effluents.
  • Design, integration, installation and maintenance of Automatic Effluent Monitoring System.
  • Wastewater characteristic study and efficiency studies of wastewater treatment plants.
